Happy October!

Finally, I have enough time to write a post. Ever since school started, it seems as if I have no time for myself! But, October is here and is my favorite month of the year. (hey that rhymes!lol) First, I have to say Happy Birthday to my mom. It's today, and it's been fun so far. Yesterday, at school, some of my friends and I went into her class and surprised her and her 6th hour students by singing her a rap I wrote. It was so much fun! She loved it. My birthday is Friday, and I'll be 15. I'm so excited to finally be the age of every other sophmore....:P

My dad is going up to Michigan this week to move our furniture down, so we're all really happy about that. Alexander has been busy with 6th grade, and he is in the band, playing the oboe. This makes my miss my days of middle school band so much! I'm considering getting myself a new tenor saxophone and joining the high school band.

We both are in the play Annie, with debuts 3 weeks from last night. I am going to be in a Drama Competition, where I am singing Mama I'm a Big Girl Now from Hairspray with two of my friends, and for those of you who have seen Little Shop of Horrors, I am Audrey in the song Skid Row (Downtown). I may be singing a solo, or acting in a scene from Alice and Wonderland for my third slot in the competition, but I'm still deciding.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the year, and it's coming so soon! Our first quarter of school is over next week. I can't believe we're almost half way done with our first semester!

Alexander and I are still in karate, and I've dislocated my finger 3 times now in the last 2 months. But we both are having so much fun!

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

Happy One Year Anniversary, Blog!

One year ago today, I started my blog as an easy way for friends and family to keep up on my family's travels. And even though we're done traveling (for now!), my blog has become a fun way to keep a journal to share with everyone.
To read past entries and see pictures, click on different months and years under 'Archive' (on the right side of the blog).
Thanks to everyone who has read the blog! :)

7-8-09

Yes, I know, this is a very random post. But today, I realized, is a day that won't be around for another 1000 years. Wow, that sounds even lamer now than it did earlier! lol But anyways, today has been a boring day.
Monday at karate, we were practically drilled to death, but I did break my first board. When the sensei called on me, I was like, omg, i can do this, and I did! On my first try! I even got to keep the wood to prove it. So yesterday I didn't get up till like 10, i was so tired!
And today, my dad and brother went fishing, my mom had a class, and I was home alone. But since I'm taking 1st semester Bio online (I missed that class in public school when we were traveling, and took a different science class w/o realizing it) so i'm almost finished with that. 1 semester done in a month! That's pretty good, I think.
But I have karate again tonight in an hour, from 6-8. So, now I have to go eat dinner and get ready for karate.

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone had a great 4th yesterday! Mine actually turned out pretty awesome. A week ago, I had no plans and just expected to hang out at home. But, learning to be spontaneous in my travels, I had plans by Saturday Morning. Alexander and I were in the Freedom Fest parade for karate, so we got to ride in the float, which was pretty cool :) Then I went to do some shopping with my mom, which is always fun. We spent some time at the bookstore, and I ended up getting another shelf full. As my dad says, my mom and I are dangerous around good books! lol Then we went to the beach for a little while. When we came back home, we went back to Freedom Fest to walk around, listen to some of the music there, and get some funnel cakes. A couple of sprinkles didn't stop us! Then we drove over to where we take karate, which is a couple of blocks down from where Freedom Fest was at the civic center to watch the fireworks. It was a lot of fun! I posted a video of some fireworks and the fireworks finale. But if you want to hear the fireworks, which were pretty loud, be sure to pause the playlist down at the bottom of my blog.

Here's to Freedom Fest! We left after we got our funnel cakes, because it started to sprinkle. Look at those clouds! lol But it was fun. I took the picture as we were walking back to the car.

Here's the movie of the fireworks I took! It's not the best quality, because I took it with my normal digital camera, but it's still cool to watch!
